Desde hace poco tiempo se vivió una nueva especie de revolución, y fue cuando por fin aparecieron las redes wi fi, los módems y los routers que hacen que las conexiones a través del teléfono sean inexistentes y de hecho alguna hasta vienen conectadas también con la empresa de televisión por cable.
El router precisamente es un aparato, un dispositivo que administra una red de datos suministrando la red para que se dirija a otro dispositivo.
Este tipo de elementos se han encontrado muy solicitados en el último tiempo porque ayudan a eliminar el cablerío de las casas y de todas maneras que en diferentes dispositivos se tenga conectividad o paquete de datos. Su funcionamiento principal es precisamente ese, poder almacenar diferentes paquetes de datos y poder redireccionarlos a los dispositivos correspondientes, de acuerdo a una lista de prioridades que el mismo enrutador genera.
La capacidad de estos pequeños aparatos es poder manejarse con algoritmos determinando cuáles son las rutas determinadas para un emisor y un receptor.
Muchas veces los routers se pueden sumar a los módems, pero esto es generalmente para el caso de las empresas y más aún las que trabajan con internet de manera constante. Pueden venir de varios tamaños.
En el caso de las conexiones domésticas o particulares es muy común que los enrutadores se encuentren dentro de los mismos módems o que vengan juntos en un mismo dispositivo, porque la cantidad de paquetes de datos es menor que la de una corporación. En este caso, lo que llamamos comúnmente routers, o módems, están formados por un módem, un router, un switch y opcionalmente un punto de acceso WiFi, sin que sepamos todo eso y son los que llevan conectividad tanto a nuestras computadoras, como a nuestros teléfonos celulares.
No es muy difícil instalarlos de manera doméstica y se encuentran muchos tutoriales en internet que son excelentes No hay muchas posibilidades de que en algún lugar se sigan usando las conexiones más viejas, pero en caso de que así lo sea, debes saber que tiene que modernizarte.
